Paul V. Drohan, President & CEO

Paul V. Drohan has over 25 years of experience in the global biopharmaceutical industry, and returned last year from the United Kingdom where he lived and worked for the past eight years. Most recently, he was with Genzyme (a Sanofi Company) as Senior Global Vice President, leading the organizations strategic, financial and sales and marketing operations performance for the U.K., Republic of Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Paul looks to bring this knowledge and experience back to Canada’s life sciences sector.

Susan Ogilvie, Communications & External Affairs Manager

Susan has been as a communications professional for the last 17 years, both as a long term employee and as a consultant. Her recent career experience includes: Provincial Press Secretary for the Green Party of BC, Project Manager with the Castlemain Group, Canada Safeway as Public and Government Relations Manager, Media Attaché for the City of Sochi during the 2010 Winter Olympics, and with the BC Pharmacy Association as Communications Director.

Sarah Wuertz, Manager, Events & Office

Born and raised in Germany, Sarah Wuertz moved to British Columbia in 2008 and joined Synergy Events, a full-service event production company, where she specialized in high-end corporate, government, cultural and philanthropic projects. She has produced and managed a wide range of events, from fundraisers and gala dinners to corporate conferences and sporting events, including the RBC GranFondo Whistler as Start Manager, a mass cycling event with over 5,000 participants in downtown Vancouver.

Elizabeth Sun, Membership & Sponsorship Manager

Elizabeth Sun joined LifeSciences BC in June 2014 and is the primary contact for information about memberships and sponsorships. Prior to her joining LifeSciences BC, she lived in Japan for two years, where she interned at a behavioral genetics laboratory at the University of Tokyo and studied Japanese. She holds an MBA from the Sauder School of Business.

Winnie Han, Administrative Coordinator

Born and raised in South Korea, Winnie joined LifeSciences BC in April 2014 and is the primary contact for the UBC Sauder School of Business MBA Internship Program and for the Sanofi Biogenius Canada Program. She also assists staff members whenever extra help is needed. Prior to joining LifeSciences BC, Winnie worked at BIOTECanada, the national biotechnology association, supporting the Administration and Finance Departments, and she also worked at Genzyme Canada, a Sanofi Company, supporting the Rare Diseases Business Unit.

Winnie holds a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Route, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in English as a Second Language, from the University of Alberta. She is fluent in both English and Korean. Whenever possible, she often goes hiking on the Grouse Grind, and loves baking.
